About Jimmy...Jimmy Black can play just about any instrument, and can play song material from just about any style of music you might care to challenge him with. More than 2 decades of teaching music has called these challenges into play numerous times. In BlockLogik, Jimmy regularly plays electric and bass guitars. His vocal style is the perfect lead for numbers from Allman Brothers, or songs such as "Crossroads" by Eric Clapton, and he lends an ear with perfect pitch to the 3 and 4 part harmonies BlockLogik often produces. Jimmy enjoys a complicated musical challenge, and is responsible for inspiring several of BlockLogik's original interpretations of classic rock and roll songs, like "Southern Man" by Neil Young and "Rocket Launcher" by Bruce Cockburn. Jimmy Black has been playing guitars, performing lead and backing vocals, and collaborating in the songwriting for BlockLogik for nearly 15 years, including songs such as "Nature of the Beast" and "City Night News". |
